Righteousness – Righteousness that Stands Firm (365/170)

In a world where compromise is celebrated and conviction is questioned, choosing righteousness can feel lonely, and following Christ will often set us apart.
The Bible tells us that Noah lived in a world where every inclination of humanity had turned toward evil, and the earth was filled with corruption and violence (Genesis 6:5, 11–12). Yet amid this moral collapse, God saw one man who remained righteous before Him. "Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God" (Genesis 6:9).
Noah's righteousness was in his steadfast faith. He walked with God day after day, and when God commanded him to build the ark, he obeyed without hesitation, doing "according to all that God commanded him" (Genesis 6:22; 7:5). Hebrews tells us that by faith Noah made the ark saving his household and became "an heir of righteousness" (Hebrews 11:7). Peter refers to Noah as a "preacher of righteousness" (2 Peter 2:5). How would you and I be known?
Jesus who Himself stood firm where we often fail, became the source of our righteousness. Through Him, we receive not only forgiveness but also His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Pause and Ponder
Am I allowing the culture around me to shape my convictions more than God's Word?
What areas of my life require courage to obey God, even if I must stand alone?
How can I cultivate a daily walk with God that strengthens me to remain faithful?
May we like Noah, through faith, be counted righteous before God, standing firm in obedience even when it means facing opposition to do His will.
Righteous Father, strengthen my faith to pursue righteousness, standing firm with humility and courage in all You call me to do. Amen.
