Faith in Action – Before Visible Proof (365/150)

We often delay obedience until circumstances seem favourable and success appears likely. Yet many of God's greatest works begin when His people move forward with nothing but His promise to hold onto.
Joshua marched around a fortified city before a single stone moved. Jericho stood tightly shut and heavily fortified (Joshua 6:1). Human wisdom would have suggested siege weapons, military strategy, and a direct assault. Instead, God commanded Joshua to march silently around the city for six days and, on the seventh day, to circle it seven times before shouting (Joshua 6:2–5).
The instructions must have seemed absurd. Yet Joshua did not argue, modify the plan, or delay in obedience. He simply did what God said and led the entire nation to do the same (Joshua 6:6–16). The Bible says of Joshua in Hebrews 11, “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.” (v30). The victory at Jericho was not won by military strength but by faith in action. Joshua acted on God's word even when circumstances offered no visible evidence of success.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus conquered our greatest enemies, sin and death, not through worldly power but through the seeming weakness of the cross.
Pause and Ponder
What instruction from God seems unreasonable or difficult for me to obey right now?
Where am I relying on my own understanding instead of trusting God's wisdom?
Who around me needs to see faith in action in my life today?
May we be people who choose to put our faith into action continuing to march in obedience, even when the walls before us are still standing.

Sovereign God, teach me to trust Your wisdom above my own and give me courage to obey when I do not understand. Amen.
