Audio - Renewed by an Encounter with Jesus

What would change if you truly encountered Jesus today? Are there areas in your life you know need turning, but you keep putting off? Do you long for real change—not just outward adjustment, but inward transformation?

Zacchaeus’ story recorded in Luke 19  tells us about a tax collector not admired by society, because he was known for dishonesty and greed. Yet stirred by a desire to see Jesus, he climbed a sycamore tree. Jesus stopped, looked up, and called him by name and chose to stay in Zacchaeus’ home. That moment changed everything.

Zacchaeus responded with joy and repentance. He committed to give to the poor and restore what he had taken unjustly—fourfold. Jesus declares, “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10, NKJV).

When Zaccheus encountered Jesus, there was transformation - his priorities shifted, relationships were restored and life took a new direction. True renewal in Christ is an ongoing process of inward change that flows outward.  “Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16, NKJV). Renewal is not a one-time moment—it is a life being continually transformed by His presence.

Pause and Ponder

  • What does Zacchaeus’ response reveal about the kind of change Jesus desires in me?

  • Where is Jesus inviting me to move to true repentance and transformation?

  • Whom can I point to Jesus today, trusting that an encounter with Him can completely change their life?

An encounter with Jesus never leaves you the same—it renews you from the inside out.

Lord Jesus, thank You for seeking me when I was lost. Change my heart from within and renew me daily that my life reflects Your transforming power. Amen.
